My first publication was released, an article in the current issue of Woodenboat Magazine on making hand crafted bronze chart dividers. The article reviews basic metalworking techniques through making a handsome and useful tool, using simple and cheap methods. To see the full article, click on the highlighted link above or the picture to see about purchasing a digital or print copy of the entire issue.

Custom bronze Dividers and boat builder's Bevel Gauge
This past summer I created these pieces as project examples for my students at Woodenboat School, in Brooklin, Maine. These are pieces made with simple tools and hand filing. Techniques shown are silver brazing tool steel tips onto the Divider legs (and then heat treating the tips for durability), and creating moving parts/custom pivot hinges. I designed these pieces from inspiration by antique tools I have come across in the past.
Studio photo essay images by Jane Messinger
Fabulous photographer Jane Messinger came by my studio to do a photo essay of my workshop...highly recommend her work for professional architecture and design portfolio work, as well as portraiture and journalistic projects. Thank you Jane! Here is a link to the essay on her site: http://janemessinger.com/erica/.
